Jamie Rowles is Planet Sector Director at Founders Factory, where he is the Co-Founder & Managing Partner of the firm’s new Planet Fund, which invests in seed stage companies building a better future. Previously, he served as the Head of Investments for Sky Ocean Ventures, a £25M early stage science and technology fund launched by Sky media group in 2018, focused on ocean health and plastic pollution. Sky Ocean Ventures has partnered with 25 companies developing solutions to the ocean plastic crisis across the value chain from novel material science, new consumption models and through to advanced recycling technologies. The fund also launched first-of-their kind innovation partnerships with National Geographic and Innovate UK, the UK’s research and innovation agency. Jamie’s prior investment experience has been across the early stage investment lifecycle at four different venture capital funds in the UK and US. Jamie has also been part of the founding teams of, and continues to advise, two early stage food and agriculture technology businesses in the UK. Jamie is a graduate from the MBA program at UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management in Los Angeles, California (Price Award) and was a founding member of the Anderson Venture Impact Partners. Jamie began his career as a private equity lawyer in the UK and the Middle East.
