DANNI WASHINGTON

Danni Washington is a renowned television host and science communicator, Washington is the first African-American woman to host a nationally broadcast syndicated science television series, co-hosting CBS’s Mission Unstoppable, a weekly program highlighting fascinating female innovators thriving on the cutting edge of science. 

In 2008, Washington co-founded The Big Blue & You – a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and educating youth about marine conservation through the arts and media. The non-profit champions female-centered leadership in STEM and all facets of marine biology with the mantra, “Ocean Conservation through Artistic Inspiration.” 

Danni is also presently the host of The Genius Generation podcast produced by Seeker and Trax which spotlights young people behind an incredible invention, entrepreneurial pursuit, or discovery using science. 

She also served for eight years as a naturalist at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center, where she helped educate thousands of South Florida children about local marine ecosystems. In addition to her role as co-host on Mission Unstoppable, Washington collaborates on various STEM broadcast programs, including Xploration Nature Knows Best on FOX, “Science the $#!* Out Of It” on Facebook Watch, Untamed Science for Pearson Publishing, and Ocean GEMS. Washington attended the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science and earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science Biology.
